Two free checks for your website and email.

Plenty of sites look fine and still don't work. The trouble is the part you can't see from the front page: where it's hosted, what it's built on, how much of it Google gets when it comes to look, whether the email on the domain arrives. These two checks tell you all of that in about ten seconds, off nothing that isn't already public.

Check your website

Give it a domain and it tells you where the site's hosted and in which country, what it's built with and whether that's an AI or drag-and-drop builder, how much of the page Google gets, how it does on a phone, and how the email on the domain is setup.

Nothing gets installed and nothing on your site is touched.

Check your email

The email check looks at whether your domain is protected against people forging mail as you, whether what you send is signed, and whether your email sits on your own domain. If something needs attention it says which parts, and I can fix it, usually within a day.

What they usually turn up

Three things come back more than everything else put together. Email records started and never finished, SPF there, DKIM missing, DMARC absent, so some of what you send is filtered on the way and nothing tells you how much. A site on a page builder that ships a megabyte of scripts before any words appear, slowest on exactly the phones your customers hold. And hosting nobody can name, usually because whoever set it up has moved on.

None of those are emergencies. They're the sort of thing that quietly costs you enquiries for years, and each is a day or two of work to put right.

What the checks don't do

Neither logs into anything, installs anything or changes anything on your site. Both read what's already public: the page a browser would be sent, the headers with it, the DNS records anybody can look up. You don't have to own the domain either, so you can point them at a competitor as easily as at yourself.

Neither will tell you whether your site is any good, nothing automated can. They tell you what it's made of and what that's costing you in speed and in mail that never arrives.

What happens with the results

The report is yours and comes with a link you can share, so you can pass it to whoever looks after your site.

Leave your details and I get the technical detail behind the report, then I'll reply within a working day.

If the check turns something up

Failing email records are the most common thing it finds, and that's worth reading about on its own. It's usually why nobody replied.

If the site's the problem, or it's built on something you'd rather not be stuck with, here's how I build them.

Not sure what to ask a web designer? Read this first.

Run it on your own domain.

It costs nothing and I'll tell you what's worth fixing and what you can leave alone. If you'd rather ask me instead, that works too.
